STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥 Students who transfer from a Mississippi community or junior college now have the opportunity to complete their associate鈥檚 degree while enrolled at 幺力视频, thanks to an agreement between the state鈥檚 Community College Board and Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.

The Reverse Transfer Credit Agreement allows students to transfer credits earned at MSU or another institution of higher learning to their two-year college to complete requirements for an associate鈥檚 degree without interrupting matriculation toward a baccalaureate degree.

After admission to an IHL university, transfer students earning at least 16 college credit hours from a single MCCB community or junior college will be notified after completing 64 hours that they may be eligible for the associate鈥檚 degree. 聽

University Registrar John R. Dickerson said eligible students will be required to log in to their myState account, click the 鈥淏anner鈥 tab, select 鈥淐ommunity College Reverse Transfer鈥 under the 鈥淎cademic Records鈥 tab, and follow on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Once the student鈥檚 request has been received, the MSU Registrar鈥檚 Office will send the student鈥檚 transcript to the two-year college registrar鈥檚 office. That college will then perform the degree audit and determine whether requirements for the associate鈥檚 degree have been satisfied.
