STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he Mississippi Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers will convene at 幺力视频 for its annual meeting next month, presenting an opportunity for professionals, students, alumni and others interested in the field to network and hear from a slate of prominent conference speakers.

鈥淭his is a great opportunity to earn professional development hours and network with peers from across the state,鈥 said Jacob Forrester, current ASCE Mississippi Section president. Forrester also works as associate director of utilities for Facilities Management at MSU.
鈥淭he university鈥檚 Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction Materials Research Center have been instrumental in planning the meeting in conjunction with ASCE,鈥 he said.
The meeting agenda includes technical presentations on transportation, water/wastewater and structural infrastructure systems. An engineering ethics workshop also will be presented by ASCE President Norma Jean Mattei, professor and past chair at the University of New Orleans Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Mattei has been active in ASCE for more than 20 years in local, regional and national leadership roles.
Other keynote speakers include Central District Commissioner for the Mississippi Department of Transportation Dick Hall; MSU Men鈥檚 Basketball Head Coach Ben Howland; MDOT Southern District Commissioner Tom King; MDOT Executive Director Melinda McGrath; MDOT Northern District Commissioner Mike Tagert; and MSU Vice President for Campus Services Amy Tuck.
