Recognition, Remembrance and Reflection: The Syphilis Study at Tuskegee and聽Macon County, Ala.

The 幺力视频 Office of Research Compliance and Security聽will host a seminar from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 providing participants with both IRB refresher training and two hours of RCR live training credits.

This event will acknowledge the 50th anniversary of the end of the聽U.S. Public Health Service Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male at Tuskegee聽and Macon County, Alabama, from 1932-1972. The intention is to create a space for authentic, accurate storytelling and discussion regarding current and future opportunities for public health leaders at CDC and beyond to move from trust to trustworthiness.

The program will examine what happened, how and why it happened, lessons聽learned, the palpable effects still felt today and CDC's ongoing role in addressing health equity.

The event will be held at 301 Research Blvd. in the Thad Cochran Research聽Park. Lunch will be provided, and parking is available without a permit.聽
