STARKVILLE, Miss.—çÛÁ¦ÊÓƵ is the Magnolia State’s only institution of higher learning named to Forbes’ inaugural America’s Dream Employers list for 2025.
The recently released list includes 500 companies and organizations employing at least 1,000 people and spanning all sectors of industry. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to collect survey data from more than 10,000 U.S. college students and more than 140,000 U.S.-based employees in the last three years. Students were asked which companies would be dream employers and were asked to rate how excited they would be to receive a job offer from the organization. Additionally, they were asked how appealing the employer was based on various criteria, including growth opportunities, quality of work, pay and company reputation.
Surveyed employees were asked if they would recommend their current or previous employer and to evaluate their organizations based on salary, professional development, workplace flexibility, ability for workers to express ideas openly and other criteria.
These answers were tallied, analyzed and weighted to create individual scores for companies.
MSU joins 40 other education-related organizations on the list, including universities, community colleges and service providers. Headquartered in Gulfport, Hancock Whitney Bank is the only other Mississippi-based entity to make the list.
In February, MSU was named to Forbes’ 2024 list of America’s Best Large Employers. Ranked No. 41, it was one of only three universities in the U.S. and the only Southeastern Conference school ranked in the Top 50.
