Junior horticulture/floral management major Abigale G. “Abby” Jenkins of Cedar Park, Texas, helps Ƶ senior management major Austin M. McCann of Memphis, Tennessee, to make his own Valentine floral arrangement Friday [Feb. 12] at . Jenkins, president of the university’s Student Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers, is among the students who are on hand today [Feb. 13] from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist individuals and groups with creating their own Valentine’s Day arrangements. Groups may call 662-325-3585 to reserve a time. All participants will earn a discount on their purchase with the make-your-own option and help support SAIFD's trip to the Southern regional competition this spring. Located at 100 Lee Blvd., The University Florist also will be open on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. to assist patrons with all of their Valentine's Day gift and floral needs, including the new Bulldog plush line and an assortment of Valentine candy. Arrangements of roses, tulips, hydrangeas and gerberas are featured at the shop, and a new shipment of McCartys Pottery arrived this week.
